I was introduced to the Lappert family ice creams in the '80s in Hanapepe, Kauai...the mainland versions are also wonderful: rich, creative and creamy. Take, for example, their "Kauai Pie", a mixture of coffee ice cream, chunky macadamia nuts, coconut, and chocolate fudge. Oh my.
