Hi, I'm Kira Stackhouse, the eye behind the cam. I'm a commercial and portrait photographer, best known for my colorful and thoughtful portraits of animals and pets. I believe every pet owner should have at least one great professional portrait of their pet - because pets are family too!

// WHAT
I've been photographing dogs (and food, and people) in the SF Bay Area for 5 years. I am the proud creator and author of Project DOG (www.projectdog.net), a recently published hardcover coffee table book featuring more than 300 Bay Area dogs!

// WHERE
My work's been seen in BARK Magazine, 7x7, Doggie Aficionado, San Francisco Magazine, and more. You can also find many of my photos in Barron's series of dog breed books (Pugs, Jack Russell Terriers, Poodle Bible, German Shepherds, to name a few). I also photograph many of the My Mutt posters you see in the windows at Pet Food Express!

You've probably seen me around town shooting events for 7x7 Magazine and pet-friendly fundraisers like Petchitecture and the Bark and Whine Ball. I'm also a proud volunteer for Muttville Senior Dog Rescue! :-)

Animals are my passion and there's nothing better than getting my lens up close and personal in some fur and whiskers! I'm interested in creating thought-provoking bodies of work that will leave a lasting impact and inspire people to think outside the box.
