Having gone to school and grown up in India (several cities), and having taken my wife there for a several week visit, our palates understand some subtleties of Indian food flavors, from north to south. Our favorite, of many OIndian restaurants in the Bay area, is Santa Rosa's Sizzling Tandoor between 4th mand 5th on SR Ave. We travel there monthly for Santa Rosa symphony and always eat at SizzT. The owner treats every guest as the most important and only guest. Whenever there is a new dish, he explains it's taste and ingredients. He and the servers check back with you several times to sure everything is right. We always bring dishes home to enjoy a couple days later. Try a new dish every time you visit. You won't be disappointed!!
I sample/drink coffee from roasters around the globe--Sweden to Calif. and up-and-down the Calif coast. No SBUKS for me!! CCC roasts are excellent and innovative new ones are introduced frequently. One of the best anywhere is the Three Amigos. They sell fair-trade and eco grown beans, which, I have been told, the owner has chosen huimself on real trips to coffee growing plantations. Now I am enjoying Rwanda Burbon (not what you might think) and Indian Monsoon Malabar; so good I both do and don't want to share. I also like their Sumatra decaf. I usually ask for their lightest roasts, as I drank lots of Swedish light roasts before I discovered CCC. CCC has become an extended neighborhood gathering place, where I meet someone new every time I stop in. Of course, there are many regulars to meet again. The counter staff is always jolly, and enjoyably courteous and chatty with customers. Try it, you'll' like it!! FWK
